Dr. Stephanie Saulnier Director and Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Stephanie Saulnier holds an Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Southern Queensland. She then completed a Masters of Science and a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at the University of Sydney. She completed her major research with patients who were undergoing bone marrow transplants. She examined how the treatment affected both the patient and their carer’s psychological and social functioning.

Stephanie is fully registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and has been approved by Medicare to provide psychological services for clients under a Mental Health Care Plan and DVA. She is a member of the following organisations: Australian Clinical Psychologists Association (ACPA), Associate Member of the AustralianPsychological Society (APS), and the Australian Association for Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy (AACBT). Stephanie is additionally an accredited EMDR practitioner with the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA) and is also a full member of EMDRAA.

Stephanie has practiced as a Psychologist since 2003 in community and mental health settings, hospitals and private practice. She has also consulted to Women’s refuges to assist women and children who were escaping domestic violence.

Prior to working as a Clinical Psychologist, Stephanie worked as a Paramedic for the Queensland Ambulance Service. In addition to caring for sick and injured patients, Stephanie also became involved in assisting other Paramedics deal with mental health issues associated with the job.

Stephanie has an interest in PTSD and overcoming the effects of trauma with EMDR. She is also interested in assisting people manage anxiety disorders (particularly phobias, panic, health anxiety and OCD). Stephanie is dedicated to working ethically and effectively. She maintains high professional standards and regularly engages in training to ensure that her treatment and knowledge is up-to-date with current research.
