Fees/Rebates

Medicare

Medicare rebates are available for up to 10 sessions per year, to clients who are seen by Clinical and Registered Psychologists.

In order to access this rebate, a GP needs to complete a Mental Health Care Plan which outlines your issues, goals and the treatment required. This needs to be in place prior to your first appointment, otherwise you will not be able to claim a rebate for the session from Medicare. A GP usually requires a longer consultation time to prepare a plan, so make sure you request a long session when you make an appointment to get a plan.

Private Health Insurance

Psychological therapy is covered by most major private health funds.

To determine whether you are eligible for a rebate you must contact your health insurance provider to discuss your specific level of cover and annual limit.**

**Please be aware that you may not claim Medicare and Private Health Insurance at the same time.

WorkCover

We have Psychologists who are approved to provide sessions under WorkCover

If you have experienced a work place injury and would like to receive Psychological treatment, we are able to assist you. You may be eligible for 8 sessions without any prior approval required. However, if you have an existing injury we may require approval from your claim manager. Please contact our admin team to discuss your individual situation.

Do I need a referral to see a Psychologist?

You do not need a referral from a doctor to see a Psychologist. However, you will be unable to claim a rebate from Medicare If you don’t have a referral and you will be required to pay the full fee. If you have private health insurance that covers Psychology, you may be entitled to receive a rebate from your private health insurer.

However, if you wish to claim a Medicare rebate then you do need a referral. You must see a GP prior to the first appointment, who will provide you with a referral and a Mental Health Care Plan.

Cancellation Policy

We know life happens and sometimes you need to cancel or reschedule. We have a cancellation policy for all appointments that requires 48 business hours notice in order to avoid a penalty. We strictly adhere to this out of respect to our psychologists and clients. If you are unable to attend your appointment, providing advanced notice allows us to offer your time slot to another client on the psychologist’s waiting list. This enables us to deliver a fair and consistent quality of service to everyone.

Cancellation Policy for Initial Appointments:
If you cannot attend your scheduled initial appointment for any reason, please provide at least 48 business hours notice. If your initial appointment is cancelled with less than the 48 business hours notice or you do not attend your appointment on the day, you will be required to pay a deposit of 50% of the session fee, if you wish to book any further appointments or to attend the next pre scheduled appointment. This deposit will be deducted from the initial session fee but is not refundable if you do not attend for your appointment or cancel within 48 business hours.

To cancel or reschedule your appointment:
To avoid a cancellation fee, please let our admin team know at least two business days (48 business hours) before your appointment day. Calling, leaving a voicemail, or emailing our admin team with your appointment details and request to cancel is the most effective way to ensure we receive your cancellation notice. When you reply “NO” to the SMS reminder message sent within 24 hours to cancel, that would already mean that your opportunity to reschedule or cancel without penalty has already expired. If your appointment is on a Monday, you will be required to cancel on the Thursday prior to your appointment. If your appointment is on a Tuesday, you will be required to cancel on the Friday prior to your appointment. Please note the SMS reminder service is a courtesy tool only, we recommend writing down your appointments as not receiving the sms reminder will not void a cancellation fee.

Cancellation fees are charged as per below.
Appointment is cancelled with less than 48 business hours notice before your appointment = 50% of the session fee
Appointment is cancelled with less than 24 business hours notice before your appointment = 100% of the session fee
If you do not arrive for your scheduled appointment = 100% of the session fee
